Cash to my mind isn’t the really important thing in life, nonetheless it is good to know that you’ve got a certain amount of cash, saved or invested, which you need to use if necessary. I really think that health and contentment are the 2 most vital things in life. I only truly realized the seriousness of investing and saving cash, when I was twenty-three years old.
I used to believe that I could die tomorrow, so why trouble about saving money which I may not ever use. This is a bit dumb, I know. At the age of twenty-three, on one actual day, I was chatting with a buddy called Tim. He essentially earned the same quantity of money as I did and lived a corresponding way of life. I was expecting Tim to tell me that his ma and pa had given him the cash, but they had not, he had saved up the money himself. Tim informed me that he attempts to save as much cash as he will be able to each month and routinely manages to save at least £100. When he has got a £1000 saved in the bank, he then invests the money into a bond. I then thought to myself, if Tim can save, then so am I able to. I set myself a target of saving up a £1000 and planned to do that inside 10 months. I needed to be less wreck less with my money and it’d be a good test for me. It didn’t turn out to be that complicated and that was a good feeling seeing a good bank balance for once. After only 8 months I had saved my target of £1000. Rather than placing it into a bond, I made up my mind to take a bigger risk and to buy some shares. This I must admit was pure luck as I had simply guessed at who to make an investment in. The company I selected had had a gloomy one or two years and its share price was at its lowest ever level. I had heard the company had latterly had some significant changes at the very top and I determined to bet just on these few facts. That was my first experience of investing and it gave the taste for it. I have frequently been selling and purchasing shares together with investing in unit trusts for just about 10 years now.
It has become like a sort of sport or spare time interest for me, as I’m making an attempt to always pick a winner. I have won some and lost some but had a big quantity of fun on the way. Before I began to save up money, I’d regularly get quite concerned about the future.
How would I be in a position to purchase a house? How will I be well placed to get a decent auto? These are only two of many questions I’d ask myself.
I might try to overlook the questions by announcing to myself that at that stage of my life, I deserve to be earning extra money.
I’m now super happy I Had that conversation with Tim. Investing cash in the way I do has helped me to get onto the property ladder and also helps to fund my annual vacation abroad for my folks. It also gives me an assurance for the future helping to to sleep less complicated at night.
